What we’ve been up to
on August 5th, 2010, by dolf2 weeks ago almost the entire team went home. You might be wondering, what we’ve all been doing… well here it is! Life away from Durian, for the most part.
Dolf has been making Soesjes!
Nathan has been playing with super-cute bunnies!
(And looking for freelance work…)
William visited ILM while in San Francisco
Plus, couldn’t resist the awesomepad, I mean iPad.
Ben has been fighting the Zerg…
(And bringing his reel up to speed, but the Zerg require a lot of attention.)
Beorn has flown back to the other side of the planet to play a small club gig with his old band. (As well as upgrading his blog a little)
David has won a CGaward with Mypaint, Al.chemy and Gimp ( for ‘Alice in Wonderland’ ) and take some holidays in Radom, Poland.
Jeremy went to London to climb on things and be silly with friends for a while!
(Now its back to work. This time in Paris!)
Campbell is getting some peace and quiet back in Australia!
trying to keep working on Blender2.5 bug tracker when Rosie lets him.
Lee is hanging around in Amsterdam for a couple more months!
Working on his own video tutorials, and helping with Sintel animation tweaks for the Dutch Film Festival premiere.
Ton went all the way to Los Angeles to get an original Ecko shirt (which you can’t get in Netherlands) and resisted buying an iPad every day!

Campell is tackeling bugs as we speak. the man must be working on uranium or something.
iPad seems nice, I would love to own one also. And somehow hook it up so I can start renderfarm renders and get frames into it.

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but your post sounds like flame-bait. I hope it’s not too late to keep this page from bursting into flames.
The iPad happens to be a very attractive piece of totally superfluous hardware that is INCREDIBLY fun to play with, and also very convenient to have. It’s not for everyone, but to each his own.
I’d probably have one myself if I could use it for Blender, and fighting the Zerg.

Piiichan: americans, as far as I know, consider bunnies like pets. I don’t think they eat bunnies. I have a cousin living in Cleveland. One day she came here in Italy and I prepared her a delicious bunny with patatoes: she was horrified! :O

lol, I once loaded the Blender.org page on an Ipad at FutureShop…and got lost in a Mac after 30 seconds. don’t really know what an Ipad is for though, I’m guessing it’s a bigger version of the Ipod.

Off-topic, but is what I ”had been up to”:
I was in Amsterdam last weekend, so I thought; why not visiting the Blender Institute?
So I did, and Ton recognized me inmediately, because we talked at the ”’pre-premiere”.
He didn’t have much time, but I he gave a short tour and during that Colin and Sean came in and Colin showed me how he was syncing the animatic with the final movie edit for the extra feature on the DVD.

Ha, I wish I could use an iPad for blender, plus, fighting the Zerg does require a lot of attention. I’ve been killing of their endless numbers all week. Its fun to kill them too!
